Roald Dahl Day
On Thursday 13th September St Gildas’ celebrated Roald Dahl Day. Classes participated in exciting activities such as designing bugs for a national competition and writing their own adaptation of the introduction to ‘James and the Giant Peach’, following analysing Dahl’s style.
On Friday’s Gold Assembly, we then brought our work together, to celebrate our fantastic writing achievements. Each class presented their work and we were very proud of the high quality of descriptive and imaginative writing the children had produced. We were also treated to some videos of 3F demonstrating their Destination Reader skills, through discussing how Dahl’s introduction was effective and how it created an image in their minds.
