On Wednesday, the St Gildas’ community took part in the traditional Lenten devotion of praying the Stations of the Cross; an important part of our personal preparation for the forthcoming Easter season.
It was a very prayerful afternoon, in which we gathered to remember and reflect upon the final hours of Jesus’ life. All classes worked very hard to create poignant focal points depicting one of the stations. As the children have been learning lots about the history of the Stations of the Cross in RE this term, they were enabled to have a more meaningful experience. Thank you to all the staff and children for their preparation and participation. Thank you to Fr. Sean for joining us too.
A reminder that another element of Lenten practice is almsgiving. Please remember to keep placing your spare change into the Catholic Children’s Society Lenten Appeal boxes. These can be returned to school after the Easter holiday.
