The Breakfast Club is for pupils of St. Gildas’ Junior School and St. Peter’s Infant School. It was launched in September 2011 and runs each morning from 8.00 – 8.50am in St. Gildas’ school hall.
St. Peter’s pupils are escorted to their school site by two members of staff at 8.40am. The children are supervised by a minimum of two members of staff. There is no provision for children arriving before 8am. To comply with Health & Safety regulations we monitor the number of children attending per session and therefore children must only attend on the specified days that have been agreed when they join the Breakfast Club, or by prior arrangement with Mrs. Proietti. There is, however, provision for emergency sessions for a small number of children as and when needed.
From September 2013 each session will cost £4.00. Sessions are paid for in advance on a termly, half-termly or monthly basis. In certain circumstances payment can be arranged with Mrs. Proietti on a weekly basis. Cheques should be made payable to “St. Gildas’ Catholic Junior School”. All sessions have to be paid for even if a child does not attend, as the places are reserved for them, unless notice has been given to Mrs. Proietti. Registration forms are available from St. Gildas’ school office or can be downloaded, see link below. These forms have to be filled in and handed in to St. Gildas’ school office for the attention of Mrs. Proietti. A child will not be accepted without a completed form. Sessions are allocated on a 'first come, first served' basis.
The children are offered a wide choice of breakfast cereals, toast with milk and juices to drink. Activities and games are provided for the children after they have eaten their breakfast. The school behaviour policy is enforced at the breakfast club.
